Thanks be to Tumblr

Thanks to continued interest from the good folks at Tumblr, C's photograph has today crested 1K hits and is comfortably (possibly forever) the most viewed item in my Flickr collection.

Sixty Thousand

Another 3 months, another 10K hits. Slowing down a bit unless I'm mistaken. Still, it's not like this is a professional sport.

Political Compass

Just updated my map of the political persuasions of Flickr members. Looks like the website is still a haven for communist anarchists. It could be worse, I suppose.

50K

Fifty Thousand (2011-10-06 09.04)

Another 10K milestone. This time "achieved" in 111 days (~90 per day). Again, since I'm always adding new pictures, there are necessarily always more to accumulate hits. So it doesn't come as much of a surprise. But it's still nice to know that they're interesting enough to attract viewers. Even if they are, in part, my Mum and Dad.

Forty Thousand

Another Flickr milestone - 40K views. This time it took 134 days to accumulate 10K views, so it's getting faster (~74 views per day). Though, given that there are always more photographs, one should expect this. If I was being completely (rather than mostly) self-obsessed, I could compare the growth in number of photographs, views per photograph, and total photograph views across time to be sure. But let's not.

30K

Meaningless statistic update: my Flickr account has (after less than 6 months) incremented a further 10K hits to reach 30K ...

Thirty Thousand (2011-02-07 10.20)

However, during the intervening period, this benchmark photograph (by a dear friend) has, on its own, incremented almost 5K.

20K

It's taken me 9 months (since November 2009) to clock up a further 10K ...

Playing up view-envy to the hilt, this picture has 10K hits alone! Grrrr ...

10K

This is a fairly pointless statistic, and a disappointing one when viewed in context, but I finally passed 10,000 photograph views over at Flickr!

Pointless, since I use Flickr to distribute photographs for friends and family rather than for self-validation [*]. Disappointing, since my friend Graham is already sitting an order of magnitude ahead of me, despite neither giving a hoot about the numbers, nor having as many uploaded images. Not, of course, that I'm in some higher-is-better competition ...

[*] In the main that is, although I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't nice to get positive comments from passing visitors.
