Upgrade?

This ...

Before

Has become this ...

After

I wonder what the difference will be?

To be honest, I was pretty happy with Vista. It got a bum rap in my view, but since it's clearly on the way out, I thought I'd get with the programme for once, and keep up with the new OS.

So far it seems to be fine. It installed with no problems and is running well (bar some teething problems with HL2DM). Not quite as resource un-hungry as I'd hoped, but there's maybe scope for tailoring that.

I'll have to just see how it works out. I can always go back ... I think.

Is the 2nd background one of your pictures? Image from where you and C stayed in Florida, perhaps?

Hey, watch Facebook this next week. I intend to post a few travel shots there...

Actually both of them are pictures I took in Florida. The first is from the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in the southwest of the state, while the second is from South Beach in Miami. It's the first US holiday that we had the digital SLR on, and the photographs make for great wallpaper.

Anyway, glad to see that you picked up on the more interesting part of the blog post (the photos) rather than the ostensible subject (Windows 7)!

I'll keep a look out on Facebook. I hope you're having a good trip!

Got it! I see now that the first image isn't just the standard ships-with green hills kind of thing. Nice work.

If you're ever in southern Florida, I would totally recommend checking out the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. It's quite small, but it's simply beautiful.
